Downtown Escondido offers residents and tourists a quiet view of the town with its tree-lined streets and uniquely quaint shops, numerous restaurants, and antique shops.  Escondido has 8 parks, 2 lakes, a sports center, golf courses and 4 wineries.  There is a lot of art and culture to be found in Escondido with their world class California Center for the Arts.  In addition, there are numerous art galleries, art studios, historic Grape Day Park and the Heritage Walk Museum.  Families participate in the Farmer's Market, Escondido Street Fairs, Historic Grape Day Parade and Festival, and many other local events.
